Wax in oil is an ester formed from monocarboxylic acids and monohydric alcohols. In vegetable oil feedstocks, wax is primarily found in the husks and secondarily in the cell walls. Wax can dissolve in oil at temperatures above 40°C, so both pressed and extracted crude oils generally contain a certain amount of wax. This product is added to the oil, and through stirring, filtration, and sedimentation, it achieves excellent dewaxing effects.
